<22:21 EEST> Though I'm hopelessly out of touch with the demoscene, I thoroughly enjoyed the Obsoleet demo by Unreal Voodoo. It's mentioned as a controversial winner, and I imagine the opinions were heavily divided. There's not much visual brilliance, and I think it's the arguably populist idea (to the demoscene) that attracted the winning votes. However, I think it has lots of very neat technical feats; there's more to demos than shiny graphics. The demo-within-demo, while a nice idea in itself, is implemented almost painfully meticulously. Just look at those CRT subpixels! Of course, the music is another big attractor for me, and the use of one main theme over and over is well justified and executed here.
